The COO has earlier said that as the demand for digital talent is exploding, the rising attrition in the industry is posing a near-term challenge. Earlier, Infosys was on track to hire around 35,000 college graduates in the company for entry-level jobs.

Towards the end of the second quarter of the financial year 2021-22, employee attrition at Infosys stood at 20.1 percent on annualised basis as compared to year-earlier levels of 12.8 percent. The total number of employees at Infosys towards the end of September 2021 was 2,79,617.

Nearly 12 percent year-on-year growth was reported by Infosys in its consolidated net profit after minority interest for the second quarter of FY22. The net profit during this period stood at Rs 5,421 crore, while the net profit during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year was Rs 4,854 crore.

As stated by Infosys, the operating margin for the quarter stood at 23.6 percent. The company further reported revenue of Rs 29,602 crore during the period under review. This overall growth of the company has increased its hiring capabilities, and thus, over 45,000 college graduates are set to be recruited by Infosys this year.
